FAQ 1 Do you use any harsh chemicals?

InstaDry uses the mildest materials possible to achieve the clean required by the client. Most of the materials are organic in nature, and cause no damage to the tiles or grout.

Years of dirty mop water that seeps into grout can cause excessive discoloring that regular cleaning methods just can’t remove. Most aggressive cleaners only remove the top layer of grout, making it appear clean until dirt resurfaces from the porous material. While this can cause a temporary improvement in appearance, it also reduces the life of the flooring dramatically. Removing soiling from tile grout without damaging it requires a combination of mild detergents, soft brushes, and a whole lot of time. Any moisture, even the smallest bit, is absorbed by the tile grout and temporarily discolors, hiding stains immediately.

The main material used during an InstaDRY tile clean is an inert organic compound that’s hypoallergenic and child safe. This sponge material can absorb much of the soiling that builds up in tile grout, as well as the grooves in any texturing the tile may have.

FAQ 2 How long does it take to dry?

The tile process used by InstaDRY leaves your grout dry within an hour of cleaning.

The key to the process used by InstaDRY is minimizing the amount of moisture and harsh chemicals that meet the tile floor. The process begins by applying the same micro-sponges used for the dry carpet cleaning process to absorb the dirt directly from the tile grout while adding as little moisture as possible. Remaining spots are treated with a progression of stronger materials designed to neutralize the pH of the previous detergents, leaving the grout safe and intact.

For a particularly soiled floor, additional moisture may be needed. To counteract this, InstaDRY uses commercial grade drying fans to keep the water from setting in the porous material of tile grout. Mold and mildew can be a serious concern when it comes to deeply set staining in tile grout, and the harsh methods used by most companies only makes this worse. Because InstaDRY is so concerned with moisture, the risks of mold and mildew growth are minimized.

FAQ 3 Is it safe for my tile and grout??

InstaDRY uses a vigorous scrubbing method with brushes soft enough to maintain the integrity of the grout. All materials and methods used by InstaDRY are chosen to keep grout healthy and in good repair, harsh methods like heavy steaming and strong acids are never used. Heavy steaming of tile grout can quickly lead to decalcification, which will in turn cause chipping and pitting within the grout line. Heavy acids chemically remove part of the grout, much like stripping teeth to make them white. Both these methods can be necessary to remove stains, but shouldn’t be used as a standard cleaning method. FAQ 4 How long does it take?

Unfortunately, there is no way to estimate how long a tile cleaning will take unless we see the tile in person. InstaDRY personally examines every tile job before quoting to ensure a proper estimate is given. The variances that exist between different soiling in tile grout is difficult to see with an untrained eye, and these variations can greatly impact the length of time a tile clean can take. Some times tile can be cleaned at 200 tiles per hour, sometimes it’s difficult to finish 50 in the same time frame.
